(PHASES) Phase 1: See-Through
There are people who you spot in a room,
without a hitch
One meeting with them,
and you just know immediately,
that they were meant to shine the brightest.
No more no less
But, you.
You did not have that aura
You were unconventional with your light
Almost invisible, I glanced at you across the room
Your laughter contradicting
yet overshadowing what your face asserted
For a second
I could have sworn
that it sounded genuinely planned
Like something you’d thoroughly practise
in the mirror repeatedly
You’re talking with your friends,
making grand gestures with your hands
Your friends are digging your tea
You’re saying something very funny
Your hands keeping trying to prove a point lousily, and the tone in your voice is trying to catch up.
Three meetings later, I'm not having that feeling
where I feel nothing anymore
Instead, I'm diverting and stealing glances unhurriedly,
Letting you catch my eye for the first time
Perhaps, it's your height
A thrilling 6.2, maybe more
Perhaps it's the skill
by which you deflect your personality
in bland aesthetics
and vague expressions
